Governor Cuomo has proposed the nation’s most aggressive Green Energy Agenda:   

• Achieving 70 percent renewable energy by 2030 and emission free electric system by 2040

• Initiating a second off shore wind solicitation, following largest procurement of its kind in U.S. history; and investing $200 million for port infrastructure

• Modernizing siting process to meet renewable energy goals

• Electrifying upstate and suburban transit authorities and investing in electric vehicle infrastructure statewide

 HISTORIC INVESTMENTS TO WORLD CLASS PARK SYSTEM

• Investing $110 million to continue the State’s transformation of our celebrated recreation facilities across the State and adding a new State Park in Kingston

UNPRECEDENTED FUNDING FOR THE EPF AND CLEAN WATER

• Record $300 million funding for the Environmental Protection Fund

• $500 million for clean water projects, bringing the state’s total investment to $3.5 billion

$300 MILLION TO REIMAGINE THE ERIE CANAL

• A $300 million plan increasing access to the the history-making Canal by enhancing water recreation and developing unique canal-side attractions and activities

BAN STYROFOAM PRODUCTS

• Prohibiting the distribution and use of expanded polystyrene for single-use food containers and packaging materials

MAKE THE FRACKING BAN PERMANENT

• Making permanent the State's 2015 ban, safeguarding New York's historical environmental progress

PRODUCT STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM

• Placing the responsibility for end-of-life management for carpets and mattresses on the procducer, helping to ensure these programs consider end-of-life impacts of the product or packaging during the earliest stages of design.
