A MESSAGE FROM GOVERNOR HOCHUL

When I entered office as the first female Governor of New York, one of my first priorities was to change the culture in Albany and restore people’s trust in the state. Thus far, we’ve achieved remarkable success. Diversity is our greatest strength in New York and that is reflected in the most diverse administration in our State’s history.
We’ve adopted new measures to create a safer workplace for all, with a focus on collaboration, transparency, and accountability. I appointed the State’s first Chief Disability Officer to lead our efforts to increase equity for people with disabilities. We launched the new Office of Language Access and expanded the statewide language access policy. And with this year’s Budget, we’re making Civil Service exams more accessible, especially to candidates from traditionally marginalized communities.
Let’s redouble our commitment to the important work of increasing diversity and inclusion across New York State government. Together we’ll continue to build a brighter future to ensure everyone can access the New York Dream.
