The FY 2027 New York State Budget delivers on Governor Hochul’s ambitious agenda to make New York more affordable, keep New Yorkers safe, and expand opportunity for all. The Budget establishes universal child care, delivers financial relief for millions of New Yorkers facing high costs, and advances Governor Hochul’s "Let Them Build" agenda to increase New York’s housing supply.
It also makes record investments in public safety, adds more police officers to the subway system, strengthens efforts to crack down on illegal guns, and expands on Governor Hochul’s nation-leading work to protect children online. The Budget includes some of the strongest protections in the nation against ICE overreach, prohibiting agents from entering schools, houses of worship, and other sensitive locations, banning the use of masks to conceal their identities, and ensuring local cops can focus on fighting local crime.
