Governor Hochul signed legislation (S.5602B/A.10438) to reauthorize and expand the use of New York City school zone speed cameras to 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Governor Hochul announced a Free Fishing Weekend in New York State on June 25 and 26.

"I am horrified by reports that the Smithtown Library Board has decided to remove any LGBTQ+ related books from displays in the children's sections of its libraries and have directed the New York State Division of Human Rights to launch an investigation immediately.

Governor Hochul announced that the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation has approved nearly $70 million to help 11 municipalities advance critical infrastructure projects that protect or improve water quality.

Earlier, Governor Hochul signed Alyssa's Law (S.7132B/A.10018), requiring schools to consider the use of silent panic alarm systems when conducting review and development of their school safety plans.
