Funding for Zero-Emission School Buses

$100 million in Environmental Bond Act funding is now available to make clean buses and the associated charging infrastructure more affordable for public school districts.

At the Regional Plan Association Centennial Assembly at Chelsea Piers, New York Governor Hochul and New Jersey Governor Murphy jointly announced the nomination of Kris Kolluri as the Chief Executive Officer of the Gateway Development Commission, a partnership between New York, New Jersey and Amtrak that coordinates delivery of the Gateway Program with its partner agencies, including the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and NJ TRANSIT.

Governor Hochul announced that the Department of Environmental Conservation and Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation have joined State Police and other police departments across the country by committing to the '30x30 Pledge' to add more women to the ranks of Environmental Conservation Police Officers, Forest Rangers and Park Police Officers.

Governor Hochul updated New Yorkers on the state's progress combating COVID-19, while also announcing that the State has now distributed more than 75 million over-the-counter COVID-19 tests as part of the administration's ongoing efforts to keep communities safe during the Spring and Summer months.
