Statement from Governor Kathy Hochul on Rosh Hashana

“Tonight, our Jewish friends and neighbors will begin their celebration of Rosh Hashana, the beginning of the Jewish New Year and one of the holiest days on the Jewish calendar. Jewish communities across New York will welcome 5784 with solemn prayer, deep reflection, and joyous gatherings with family and loved ones. We are proud that such a vibrant Jewish community calls New York home, and are committed to supporting these communities during the High Holy Days and throughout the year. I wish all New Yorkers celebrating this holiday a Shana Tova U'Metukah -- may you have a good and sweet new year."
