Statement from Governor Hochul on One Year Anniversary of Federal CHIPS and Science Act

“One year ago today, our nation’s economy fundamentally changed with the passage of the federal CHIPS and Science Act. Thanks to this extraordinary law, American manufacturing is roaring back to life.

“New York is leading the nation’s manufacturing comeback. Thanks to the CHIPS and Science Act — and our only-in-New-York Green CHIPS legislation — good-paying jobs, high-tech manufacturing, and economic opportunity are coming to the Empire State. AMD, IBM, Menlo Microsystems, and of course, Micron, are making unprecedented investments that are lifting up communities across New York.
