Statement from Governor Andrew M. Cuomo Allowing Limited Concessions at State Beaches

"After consulting with State Health Commissioner Dr. Zucker and local stakeholders, we have decided that concessions will be allowed to open with restrictions at state ocean and lakefront beaches beginning this Sunday, July 12th. This includes concessions at popular destinations such as Jones Beach, Robert Moses, Sunken Meadow, and Lake Welch in Harriman State Park. We made this decision based on facts and science, and in recognition that these concessions are largely outdoors and are similar to other businesses we have allowed to open with precautions as part of NY Forward. As always, New Yorkers and visitors must adhere to social distancing guidelines and wear face masks as appropriate, and local governments will be actively monitoring to ensure compliance."
