State Landmarks to Be Lit in Celebration of Transgender Day of Visibility
Governor Releases Video Message Affirming New York State's Commitment to Supporting Transgender, Non-binary and Gender Non-conforming Individuals

Governor Kathy Hochul today issued a proclamation declaring March 31, 2023 Transgender Day of Visibility, celebrating the trans community in New York State and across the country. The Governor also announced that New York State landmarks will be lit pink, white, and light blue tonight, March 31, in celebration of Transgender Day of Visibility.
"As lawmakers across our country attack the rights of transgender people, New York State remains steadfast in our commitment to protecting the community here and around the globe," Governor Hochul said. "Today and every day, my message to the transgender, non-binary and gender non-conforming community is this: we see you, we value you, and you are welcome in New York no matter what."
