Confirms 955 Additional Coronavirus Cases in New York State - Bringing Statewide Total to 452,847; New Cases in 52 Counties
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today updated New Yorkers on the state's progress during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The number of new cases, percentage of tests that were positive and many other helpful data points are always available at forward.ny.gov.
"What New Yorkers did is extraordinary and they saved thousands of lives - that is inarguable," Governor Cuomo said. "While our numbers remain low, the fall is going to bring a new set of challenges with flu season, and we have to be aware of it and adapt our management and priorities to the new realities. We must protect our progress, so everyone must keep washing their hands, wearing their masks and remaining socially distant."
Yesterday, the State Liquor Authority and State Police Task Force visited 955 establishments in New York City and Long Island and observed 5 establishments that were not in compliance with state requirements. A county breakdown of yesterday's observed violations is below:

Of the 92,953 test results reported to New York State yesterday, 955, or 1.02 percent, were positive. Each region's percentage of positive test results reported over the last three days is as follows:
