Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today signed legislation (S03220-B/A05701B) naming a portion of the State Highway System in Oneida County in honor of Officer Kevin F. Crossley. The bill designates a portion of State Route 69 in the Village of Whitesboro as the "Officer Kevin F. Crossley Memorial Highway."

"Officer Crossley dedicated his career to serving his community and he put his life on the line every day to protect the people of Whitesboro," Governor Cuomo said. "Designating a portion of State Route 69 in Officer Crossley's name will ensure his sacrifice is remembered and honored for generations to come."

On April 11, 2018, Officer Kevin F. Crossley, a dedicated and beloved Police Officer in the Village of Whitesboro, tragically lost his life while on duty protecting his community. This designation recognizes and honors the sacrifice made by Officer Crossley who was a seven-year veteran of the Whitesboro Police Department and a life-long village resident.

Senator Joseph Griffo said, "I am pleased that the Governor has signed this bill into law, and it was an honor to advocate for this legislation on the behalf of Officer Crossley's family and his law enforcement colleagues. Officer Crossley was a dedicated public servant who fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming a police officer and serving his community. He was passionate about helping others and personified what a police officer should be. By designating a portion of Oriskany Boulevard in his honor, we will always remember the sacrifice made by Office Crossley and will be eternally grateful for his service to the Whitesboro community and the region as a whole."

Assembly Member Marianne Buttenschon said, "Officer Kevin Crossley was a beloved and dedicated police officer who lost his life protecting the community he grew up in, and for that, he deserves our utmost gratitude. His passing was a terrible tragedy, and my thoughts go out to his family and friends. By renaming a portion of Oriskany Boulevard after Officer Crossley, his loved ones can know that the profound impact he made on his community and his memory will never be forgotten. Thank you Governor Cuomo for signing this important bill."
