Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today issued a proclamation setting a May 23 special election date for the 30th Senate District and the 9th Assembly District. The Governor’s proclamation can be viewed here and below.

PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, a vacancy exists in the office of Member of the Assembly of the State of New York from the ninth Assembly District in Suffolk and Nassau Counties, caused by the resignation of Joseph S. Saladino;

WHEREAS, a vacancy exists in the office of Member of the Senate of the State of New York from the thirtieth Senate District in New York County, caused by the resignation of Bill Perkins;  

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ANDREW M. CUOMO, Governor of the State of New York, pursuant to Section 42 of the Public Officers Law, do hereby order and proclaim that an election for Members of the Assembly and Senate of the State of New York in the place and for the unexpired terms of Joseph S. Saladino and Bill Perkins be held in the said Assembly and Senate Districts on the twenty-third of May, two thousand seventeen, such elections to be conducted in the manner prescribed by law for election of Members of the Assembly and Senate of the State of New York.
