Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today issued a proclamation setting an April 24 special election date for nine vacant Assembly seats and two vacant Senate seats. The Governor's proclamation can be viewed here and is included below.

  

P R O C L A M A T I O N

 

WHEREAS, a vacancy exists in the office of Member of the Assembly of the State of New York from the fifth Assembly District in Suffolk County, caused by the resignation of Alfred C. Graf;

 WHEREAS, a vacancy exists in the office of Member of the Assembly of the State of New York from the tenth Assembly District in Suffolk County, caused by the resignation of Chad A. Lupinacci;

 WHEREAS, a vacancy exists in the office of Member of the Assembly of the State of New York from the seventeenth Assembly District in Nassau County, caused by the resignation of Thomas McKevitt;

 WHEREAS, a vacancy exists in the office of Member of the Assembly of the State of New York from the thirty-ninth Assembly District in Queens County, caused by the resignation of Francisco P. Moya;

 WHEREAS, a vacancy exists in the office of Member of the Assembly of the State of New York from the seventy-fourth Assembly District in New York County, caused by the resignation of Brian P. Kavanagh;

 WHEREAS, a vacancy exists in the office of Member of the Assembly of the State of New York from the eightieth Assembly District in Bronx County, caused by the resignation of Mark Gjonaj;

 WHEREAS, a vacancy exists in the office of Member of the Assembly of the State of New York from the one hundred second Assembly District in Albany, Columbia, Delaware, Otsego, Ulster, Greene, and Schoharie Counties, caused by the resignation of Peter D. Lopez;

 WHEREAS, a vacancy exists in the office of Member of the Assembly of the State of New York from the one hundred seventh Assembly District in Columbia, Rensselaer, and Washington Counties, caused by the resignation of Steven F. McLaughlin;

 WHEREAS, a vacancy exists in the office of Member of the Assembly of the State of New York from the one hundred forty-second Assembly District in Erie County, caused by the resignation of Michael P. Kearns;

 WHEREAS, a vacancy exists in the office of Member of the Senate of the State of New York from the thirty-second Senate District in Bronx County, caused by the resignation of Ruben Diaz;

 WHEREAS, a vacancy exists in the office of Member of the Senate of the State of New York from the thirty-seventh Senate District in Westchester County, caused by the resignation of George Latimer;

 NOW, THEREFORE, I, ANDREW M. CUOMO, Governor of the State of New York, pursuant to Section 42 of the Public Officers Law, do hereby order and proclaim that an election for Members of the Assembly and Senate of the State of New York in the place and for the unexpired terms of Alfred C. Graf, Chad A. Lupinacci, Thomas McKevitt, Francisco P. Moya, Brian P. Kavanagh, Mark Gjonaj, Peter D. Lopez, Steven F. McLaughlin, Michael P. Kearns, Ruben Diaz, and George Latimer be held in the said Assembly and Senate Districts on the twenty-fourth of April, two thousand eighteen, such elections to be conducted in the manner prescribed by law for election of Members of the Assembly and Senate of the State of New York.

GIVEN under my hand and the Privy Seal of the State in the City of Albany this fifth day of February in the year two thousand eighteen.
