Governor Cuomo Directs State Police Hate Crimes Unit to Investigate Swastika at State Park in Suffolk County
"Earlier today, a jogger at Nissequogue River State Park in Suffolk County came across a swastika and a hateful white supremacist slogan marked in chalk along the bike path. This abhorrent act of hate is deeply disturbing, especially at a time of great division and in the wake of the deadliest anti-Semitic attack in this nation's history.
"In New York, we have zero tolerance for intolerance. I am directing the State Police Hate Crimes Unit to investigate this despicable act and hold those responsible to the fullest extent of the law. New Yorkers know the most powerful four-letter word is not hate — it's love."
