Governor Cuomo Directs State Police Hate Crimes Unit to Assist In Investigation into Racist Graffiti on MTA Buses
"I am disgusted by the racist graffiti and white supremacist language targeting black people that was found on two MTA buses in Brooklyn. This abhorrent language has no place in our state, and the MTA removed both buses from service after the graffiti was reported.
"I am directing the New York State Police Hate Crimes unit to assist local authorities, including the NYPD and the MTA Police, in the investigation into this hateful graffiti and to provide all resources necessary to hold those responsible to the fullest extent of the law. Hate crimes are not just wrong - they are illegal.
"In New York, we have zero tolerance for racism, discrimination, or hate. In the face of the cancer of division spreading across the nation, we must stand united against such abhorrent acts and combat hate in all its forms."
