"Another anti-Semitic symbol was found drawn onto a bench near a Jewish Community Center in Coney Island yesterday. This is just the latest in a series of abhorrent incidences targeting the Jewish community in New York, and we cannot and will not allow the increasing frequency of these hateful acts to become the new normal.

"I am directing the State Police Hate Crimes Task Force to assist the NYPD in the investigation of this vile act, find those responsible and hold them accountable to the fullest extent of the law. There is absolutely zero tolerance for hate-fueled speech, symbols or violence of any kind in this State, and we must continue to combat this rancor by upholding the New York values of diversity, inclusion and acceptance."
