Governor Cuomo Continues Volunteer Initiative to Serve New Yorkers During Thanksgiving Holiday

TOP Governor Cuomo Continues Volunteer Initiative...

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today continued a Thanksgiving volunteer initiative, which began last year, where senior staff members from the Cuomo administration will participate in volunteer activities around the state as New Yorkers gather to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. In particular, many volunteer activities in the downstate regions will help those affected by Hurricane Sandy.

This Thanksgiving should be a time of giving back to those in need, especially to the many New Yorkers who are still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Sandy, Governor Cuomo said. Many people have already shown incredible compassion and generosity over the past several weeks, from volunteering to help communities rebuild, to donating to recovery efforts, and we need that work to continue. My administration is committed to continuing our tradition of giving back to the community during the Thanksgiving holiday and with a special focus on those New Yorkers who need help recovering from the storm during these difficult times. We encourage all those who can to join us this holiday season in giving back to help our fellow New Yorkers.
