Governor Cuomo Calls on FEMA to Restore Generators to Communities in Puerto Rico

TOP Governor Cuomo Calls on FEMA to Restore...
WYSIWYG

"It is unconscionable that FEMA is reportedly removing generators from Puerto Rican communities in need. FEMA's failed response to Hurricane Maria exacerbated the disaster on the island, and today families are still struggling to recover. Now this federal government is adding insult to injury by de-installing generators while the power grid is still not fully reliable.

"Puerto Ricans are American citizens and they need and deserve all the support we can provide. I call on FEMA to immediately reverse these actions, if true, and keep the equipment in service until the grid in Puerto Rico is reliable.

"Unlike this federal government, New York's commitment to Puerto Rico is unwavering. We have stood by her side from day one of this tragedy, and we will continue to walk with Puerto Rico down the long path of recovery until she is built back better and stronger than before."
