To kick-off this new partnership, New York food and beverage items will be available on the snack cars of 13 New York trains. Amtrak estimates that approximately 1 million passengers travel these routes annually.

The initial launch of the program includes KIND bars (Manhattan, NYC), Always Bagels (Bohemia, Long Island), Chobani yogurt (New Berlin, Southern Tier), Sweet Sam's coffee cakes (Bronx, NYC) Brooklyn Defender IPA (Brooklyn, NYC), Ommegang Witte Wheat Ale (Cooperstown, Mohawk Valley) and Nine Pin Cider (Albany, Capital Region).

This program will help improve the customer experience for our passengers by providing new and enhanced food choices while also highlighting some of the great New York-based businesses helping to grow the State’s economy."

State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball said, "For the past three years, Governor Cuomo's Taste NY initiative has provided unprecedented promotion of the state’s world-class agricultural producers and helped to boost local economies in every corner of the state. Through these key partnerships and with new locations being added all the time, more consumers than ever before are tasting what New York has to offer. We are thrilled to be teaming up with Amtrak and look forward to expanding this partnership in the future so that travelers can get a taste of the unique New York products being made across the State."

Empire State Development Division of Tourism Executive Director Gavin Landry said, "Every year, hundreds of millions of visitors venture to each of New York's vacation regions, making significant contributions to local economies throughout the Empire State. Governor Cuomo understands the importance of the tourism industry and has made historic commitments to help it grow into the cornerstone of our economy that it is today, with an economic impact of more than $100 billion annually. By showcasing and sharing the finest food and beverages New York has to offer through this new Taste NY partnership with Amtrak, we will be giving even more travelers a reason to say, 'I Love New York!'"

Nine Pin Cider Works Co-founder and Cidermaker Alejandro del Peral said, "Through the leadership of Governor Cuomo and Taste NY, riders can now drink New York apples on Amtrak. Whether in Western New York, or along the majestic Hudson through the Hudson Valley, or north through the Adirondacks, the opportunity to have Nine Pin's award-winning cider aboard is a true honor for our cidery. As New York's first farm cidery, Nine Pin is excited to help launch the partnership between Taste NY and Amtrak."

Sweet Sam's Account Executive Eduardo Estrella said, "We got into this business over 20 years ago because we believed that if we used the best ingredients in our products that we couldn't go wrong. Sweet Sam’s is thrilled to be part of the Taste NY initiative and to have a distribution partner like Amtrak that has allowed us the opportunity to introduce our wholesome products, like our New York style crumb cake, to hundreds of thousands of riders each year. We're New York born and bred and proudly baked in The Bronx. Now wherever riders may go they can experience a Taste of New York along the way."

Always Bagels President Tony Pariti said, "Always Bagels is a privately owned company that has been making "Old Fashioned Boiled Bagels" for over 37 years. Our commitment to excellence has allowed us to provide Amtrak and all our other customers in New York with the finest authentic boiled bagels possible. We are honored to be part of the Taste NY program."

This new partnership builds on the growing success of the Taste NY initiative, which is now in more than 50 locations statewide. This year alone, Taste NY added a new bistro at the Javits Center in New York City, a new marketplace at the Lock E-13 Living History Rest Area in the Mohawk Valley, a Taste NY Café in the newly renovated West Bathhouse at Jones Beach, and Taste NY Bar at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater on Long Island. About Taste NY
Taste NY is an initiative launched by Governor Cuomo in 2013 to promote New York’s food and beverage industries.
