Governor Hochul announced that the New York State Department of Health has reviewed and approved Quest Diagnostics' recent application for testing to identify Monkeypox in New York State.
Governor Hochul, along with the New York State Department of Health, announced the distribution of the JYNNEOS vaccine in New York, following an additional allocation of 8,822 doses to New York State from the federal government.
“Earlier today, I spoke with Dr. Ashish Jha of the White House as part of our ongoing push to make sure that New York receives its fair share of monkeypox vaccine supply, especially for those New Yorkers in communities with high transmission rates."
Governor Hochul announced a new SMS-text notification effort to deliver the latest monkeypox information directly to New Yorkers, this is the newest component of New York State's ongoing monkeypox response.
"I spoke with Dr. Ashish Jha and Dr. Raj Panjabi of the White House to discuss our shared concerns about how to meet the monkeypox vaccination needs of New Yorkers."
