E X E C UT I V E O R D E R
DECLARATION OF A DISASTER EMERGENCY IN THE STATE OF NEW YORK
WHEREAS, on August 9, 2024, I issued Executive Order Number 38 declaring a State Disaster Emergency for all counties in the State of New York;
WHEREAS, the storm produced heavy rainfall, severe thunderstorms and flash flooding, resulting in road closures, travel disruptions, widespread power outages, and damage to public and private property, which pose an ongoing threat to public health and safety for which affected local governments are unable to respond adequately;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, KATHY HOCHUL, Governor of the State of New York, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution of the State of New York and Section 28 of Article 2-B of the Executive Law, do hereby extend the State Disaster Emergency as set forth in Executive Order 38 and do hereby continue the terms, conditions, and suspensions contained in Executive Order 38 and its successors until February 23, 2025.
