Florida Georgia Line, the Fair’s Most Highly Attended Act in 2013, Opens for Aldean Along With Tyler Farr

Albany, NY (February 1, 2014)

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that country superstar Jason Aldean will make a triumphant return to the New York State Fair Grandstand with his “Burn It Down Tour” on Saturday, August 30, 2014. Florida Georgia Line and Tyler Farr will open for Aldean. Tickets to the 7:30 p.m. show, costing $77, $67, and $57, will go on sale at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, February 8 at the State Fair Box Office and via the Fair’s official online ticket seller,

“It’s never too early to get excited about the fantastic entertainment we will have at this year’s New York State Fair and the return of Jason Aldean is just the beginning,” Governor Cuomo said. “The State Fair is a haven for summer tourism, and having some of the most popular artists perform on its stage boosts the local economy by attracting fans from all across the state and beyond. I encourage all New Yorkers to visit the New York State Fair this year – not only for the world-class entertainment, but also to enjoy some of the very best food our state’s farms have to offer.”

Reigning ACM “Male Vocalist of The Year” Jason Aldean has sold more than 8.5 million albums to date and has notched 12 #1 hits. The Macon, Georgia native‘s current album, “Night Train,” claimed a #1 debut on the Billboard all-genre Top 200, earned Platinum certification in only four weeks and was nominated for “Country Album of the Year” at the 56th annual Grammy Awards. In the wake of shattered attendance records and more than 1.5 million tickets sold on his last tour, Aldean’s 2014 “Burn It Down Tour” follows sellouts at some of the nation’s most legendary venues, including Madison Square Garden, the University of Georgia's Sanford Stadium, Wrigley Field, a two-night stand at Fenway Park, and the Hollywood Bowl. The “Burn It Down Tour” will trek to roughly 50 cities this year, including several Major League Baseball stadiums across the country.

Aldean performed to a sold-out audience at the Grandstand during the 2012 Fair. His Saturday night appearance will close the Fair’s Grandstand concert series.

There will be two standing-only areas created between the stage and a T-shaped thrust that is special for this concert only. Those standing-area tickets, costing $99, will only be available to members of Jason Aldean’s fan club. Tickets will be available through eTix, but buyers will need a special code available only to fan club members.

Florida Georgia Line opens for Aldean, just a year after drawing the third-largest crowd in Chevy Court history at the Fair. More than 31,000 people danced in a downpour to the group’s music. The duo of Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard smashed records with their hit song, “Cruise,” and the song’s remix with rapper Nelly. “Cruise” broke the record for the longest stay at #1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. In January, it became the best-selling digital song of all time.

Tyler Farr learned to love country music when he spent a summer touring with his stepfather, who played lead guitar for country icon George Jones. He has written songs for Colt Ford and Joe Nichols. His single and album, both named “Redneck Crazy,” cracked the top 5 on the country single and album charts.

“This is an amazing lineup. It’s no wonder experts call this one of the top tours of 2014. I know it will provide outstanding entertainment. I want people to know that this is just the first of what will be many announcements of top-quality entertainment this year,” said Richard A. Ball, Acting New York State Commissioner of Agriculture.
