Thank you for your interest in joining a very special event, “A Tribute to President Abraham Lincoln at the New York State Capitol.”
On Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the New York State Capitol, in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the death of President Lincoln, the public is invited to visit a special exhibit dedicated to Lincoln’s memory and the contributions New York made to the union effort in the Civil War. In addition, numerous Lincoln-themed activities will take place at the Capitol including re-enactors, period music and more. Activities start in West Capitol Park at 1:00 p.m. Special, Lincoln-themed tours of the Capitol will begin at 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6:00 p.m. All events are free.
As part of the commemoration, the National Parks Service is sponsoring a presentation by noted actor, Fritz Klein, that focuses on Lincoln's hopes and dreams for the country during his tenure as president.
The Lincoln portrayal will take place in the War Room, on the second floor of the Capitol at 3:30 and 6:30 p.m.
Please note: Both portrayals are at capacity and will not accommodate walk-in guests. Unregistered attendees will not be permitted.
