The Governor issued the following statement on the appointment of Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) President and CEO Kevin Law as President of the Long Island Association:
“I offer my heartfelt congratulations to Kevin Law on his appointment as President of the Long Island Association, and thank him for his dedicated service to my administration. In his nearly three years as President and CEO of the Long Island Power Authority, Kevin has been committed to improving LIPA’s financial performance and stability, minimizing Long Island rate increases and developing the State’s clean energy economy.
“Under Kevin’s leadership, LIPA updated its Energy Master Plan, increased transparency by creating an advisory panel to assist in its strategic planning process and had its bond rating upgraded by Fitch Ratings to ‘A.’ Kevin served on my Renewable Energy Task Force and fully embraced the State’s clean energy goals, establishing the Efficiency Long Island program to make energy efficiency more affordable to Long Islanders and expanding LIPA’s investments in renewable energy through its 50 megawatt solar initiative, its residential and commercial rebate programs and its lead role in the Long Island – New York City Offshore Wind project.
“I wish Kevin success in his new role at the Long Island Association and know he will continue to be a great asset to Long Island.” |
