Statement from Governor Paterson on the Enactment of Public Authorities Reform
"Today, the groundbreaking public authorities reform we signed into law take effect, shining light onto the workings of our public authorities and raising standards of accountability. With improved oversight, we now know how our public authorities are operating; we now know what to expect from their board members; and we now have an independent Authorities Budget Office to monitor their work. I thank my partners in government, particularly Senator Perkins and Assemblyman Brodsky for sponsoring the legislation that brought these reforms."
