Statement from Communications Director Morgan Hook

September 24, 2010

"After successfully hosting Foreign Trade missions in Western New York, Long Island and the Capital Region, this November ESD will lead New York businesses overseas to India. The goal is the same: to foster investment and job creation between international business interests and local business in New York.

"Governor Paterson has been invited to lead this trade mission, and while he is interested in helping to provide this opportunity to New York businesses his attendance is not confirmed at this time.

"Through ESD, New York State maintains 14 international offices in key world markets in North America (Toronto, Montreal and Mexico), Latin America (Brazil and Chile), Europe (UK, France and Germany), South Africa, the Middle East (Israel), and Asia (Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai), and the two newest offices in Mumbai and New Dehli. These offices provide market research, guidance and technical assistance to New York State firms seeking new and expanded overseas export market opportunities, and attract international business investment into New York State."
