“Tomorrow, New York will kick-off its celebration of the 18th annual Asian-Pacific Heritage Month. To honor the cultural traditions of this great people, we will spend the next thirty-one days commemorating the incredible contributions of the Asian-Pacific American community, and discussing ways to weave its heritage into our national fabric.
“This celebration of Asian-Pacific heritage is especially meaningful for New Yorkers. As America’s melting pot, New York has, over the years, been home to families from nearly every nation in Asia and the Pacific Islands. With a stellar work ethic, a burning desire to succeed, and an unwillingness to accept failure, these great Asian-Pacific New Yorkers have helped build our infrastructure, write our laws, feed our stomachs and nourish our souls. We are privileged to have more than one million Asian-Pacific Americans living in our State, and on behalf of all New Yorkers I would like to wish all of them a happy, a healthy and a proud Asian-Pacific Heritage Month.”
